Lynwood was opened in August 1989, being the first of four private Children’s Homes within the Cornerways organisation.

The detached property is substantial, with the downstairs accommodation comprising a large kitchen/dining room, sitting room, cloakroom and office. Adjacent to the house is an annexe, which houses the Unit Manager’s office/meeting room. Also housed in this annexe are a laundry room, shower room and staff sleeping in room.
